SERMONS
The Journey of life in relationship with God through Jesus Christ
Pyramid of Salvation
Rest – the eternal rest with God in his kingdom but before then, the one thousand years reign in Jesus Christ kingdom on earth. Where he will be ruling from Jerusalem.
“Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.” Hebrews 4:1
“For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.” Hebrews 4:10
Abundance - (perisseuo, per-is-syoo-o); to superabound in quantity or quality, be more abundant, excel, increase, exceed, be the better, remain.
“For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.” Matthew 13:12
Perseverance – to endure trials and overcome them by faith and diligence. When we persevere, we are making sure of our access to his promise of rest. For as long as we endure, the closer we are to abundance in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; Romans 5:1-3
Fruitful – To produce good results; to be productive. When as believers in Christ Jesus we become productive as we abide in the Lord and allow him to guide us through his word and Holy Spirit. Thus, our soul becomes a fertile ground for good things in our community and life.
But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:23
Success – (sakal, saw-kal); to act with insight, to be prudent. That to continue in the meditation of the word of God and keeping his precepts, then you will have good success.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
Faith – (pistis, pis -tis); persuasion, to win over, firm persuasion, confiding belief in the truth, veracity, reality of the person of Jesus Christ.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. Hebrews 11:1-3
Grace - (charis, khar -ece); favour, goodwill, benevolence
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8
Grace is the foundation on which we build everything, without Christ Jesus, we are nothing. So let us consider our ways and carefully examine where on this pyramid or ladder that we are on currently. The aim is to reach the top and enter the rest of God. When we are facing challenges, trials and tribulations or persecutions in any area of our lives we should look to the author and finisher of our faith Christ Jesus to aid us in our struggles so that we can overcome the storm; the evil and wickedness of this world.
It’s not easy but with prayer, supplications and thanksgiving we should be able to make it. We just need to be diligent and hardworking. Remember laziness is the clog in the wheel that brings about carelessness and we lose focus on that which is promising and could be productive. The key is to produce good results; not like possessions or things like that, but it means changing your behaviour and attitude in such a way that pleases and delight God.
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age Titus 2:11-12
